CSU Budget Model Redesign

COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS

Nomination & Selection Process

Thank you for your interest in the Budget Model Redesign process. Nominations were closed at 5 p.m. on October 27; however, we encourage you to engage in the process by attending one of the upcoming campus engagement sessions.

The Executive Sponsor Committee for CSU’s Budget Model Redesign invites nominations for four volunteers — up to two persons each — to serve on the Steering Committee and the Technical Committee alongside direct appointments from across the University. Individuals may self-nominate for one of the two committees or be nominated by a colleague or supervisor.

Shared governance is central to this Budget Model Redesign process, and elected leaders from Faculty Council, Administrative Professional Council, Classified Personnel Council, and other standing committees and councils will serve on these two committees. These committees will be comprised of governance representatives as well as the selected nominees and other direct appointments from among key stakeholder groups (e.g., deans and budget officers of each college) to ensure robust yet efficient representation. We seek to balance committee membership to reflect the complexity of our institution and the breadth of our obligations as one of the nation’s top land-grant universities.

Nominee Qualifications

  1. Must be a full-time member of Colorado State University’s faculty or staff.
  2. Must be available and willing to serve for a period of 18 months, attending regular meetings but also working in collaborative spaces with your committee via Microsoft Teams.

The nominee should provide a statement:

  1. Expressing a desire to serve,
  2. Indicating a preference for either the Steering or Technical committee,
  3. Discussing their expertise or background that would allow them to contribute to the committee’s work, and
  4. Stating their affiliation(s).
    • For affiliation, please include both title and rank (where appropriate), the unit/college/department of your primary appointment, and areas of service as might be applicable to ensuring the committee has broad representation across the institution (e.g., current or previous committees, advisory groups, task forces, budget and/or fiscal responsibilities, etc.).

Evaluation of Nominations

Nominations will be evaluated by the Executive Sponsor Committee based on relevant experience and expertise, while also balancing the need for broad representation on the committee. Nominee supervisors will be asked to provide feedback on selected finalists.
