CSU is hosting a series of listening sessions and meetings to provide opportunities for broad engagement among faculty, staff, and students in the Budget Model Redesign process. The first open forum was held Oct. 25, 2023, in the Lory Student Center, with a series of Lunch & Listens and Coffee Chats following through the Fall 2023 semester. Public fora for Phase 4: Learning Year Prep (formerly shadow budget prep) will be announced for the Fall 2024 semester.
We encourage the CSU community to engage in these conversations and ensure your voice is heard on this important initiative. Shared governance is central to the success of the Budget Model Redesign process. Elected leaders from Faculty Council, Administrative Professional Council, Classified Personnel Council, and other standing committees and councils serve on the Steering and Technical committees. These committees are comprised of governance representatives as well as the selected nominees and other direct appointments from among key stakeholder groups (e.g., deans and budget officers of each college) to ensure robust yet efficient representation. However, it is critical that all faculty, staff, and students from across the institution participate in this process, as the feedback collected influences and informs the final budget model.
